Analysis of stability and bifurcation for an SEIR epidemic model with saturated recovery rate

In this paper we study an SEIR epidemic model with saturated recovery rate. A backward bifurcation leading to bistability possibly occurs, and global dynamics are shown by compound matrices and geometric approaches. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the results.     

Negative Refraction and Near-Field Imaging of an Elliptical-Rod Photonic Crystal Slab in the Second Band

Negative refraction and imaging properties of the electromagnetic wave through a two-dimensional photonic crystal （PC） slab, which consists of a square lattice of elliptical dielectric rods immersed in the air background, is studied by the plane-wave expansion method and the finite-difference time-domain method. A point source placed in the vicinity of the PC slab can form a good-quality image spot through the PC slab for the incident frequencies within the second photonic band. The calculated result also shows that negative refraction occurs in this kind of PC slab.     

部分线性变系数模型的Profile Lagrange乘子检验

对于部分线性变系数模型附有约束条件时的估计与检验问题,基于Profile最小二乘方法给出了参数部分以及非参数部分的约束估计并研究了它们的渐近性质,并针对约束条件构造了Profile Lagrange乘子检验统计量,证明了该统计量在原假设下的渐近分布为χ2分布,从而将Lagrange乘子检验方法推广到了半参数模型上.     

Synthesis,structures and magnetic properties of two 2D → 3D entangled Cobalt(II) coordination polymers

Two Co(II) coordination polymers, namely Co(HBTC)(4-bpdb)·H₂O (1) and Co(HBTC)(3-bpdb)·H₂O (2) (H₃BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, 4-bpdb = 1,4-bis-(4-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene, 3-bpdb = 1,4-bis(3-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3- butadiene), have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized both structurally and magnetically. Compound 1 exhibits a (2D → 3D) polythreaded architecture. It is assembled from HBTC^2? ligands to form a 2D puckered (4,4) layer plus 4-bpdb ligands which are orientated above and below each layer. The structure of compound 2 consists of a 2D (3,5) wavelike sheet constructed from HBTC^2? anions and 3-bpdb spacers. The uncoordinated carboxyl groups of the HBTC^2? ligands protrude from both sides of the wavelike sheet to form a 2D → 3D interdigitated motif. The magnetic properties of both compounds are also investigated, indicating antiferromagnetic interactions between the adjacent metal centers.     

硫代二草酰二(3,5-二甲基嘧啶)锰配合物的合成及其与DNA的相互作用

以4,6-二甲基-2-巯基嘧啶和草酰氯为原料合成了硫代二草酰二(3,5-二甲基嘧啶)(L)及其锰配合物;采用红外光谱、紫外光谱、核磁共振谱对其结构进行了表征,同时研究了锰配合物与DNA的相互作用.结果表明,锰配合物的阳离子与DNA磷酸基团的氧负离子形成静电结合.     

para-Sulfonatocalix[6]arene-modified silver nanoparticles electrodeposited on glassy carbon electrode: Preparation and electrochemical sensing of methyl parathion

In this paper, a new electrochemical sensor, based on modified silver nanoparticles, was fabricated using one-step electrodeposition approach. The para-sulfonatocalix[6]arene-modified silver nanoparticles coated on glassy carbon electrode (pSC₆-Ag NPs/GCE) was characterized by attenuated total reflection IR spectroscopy (ATR-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), etc. The pSC₆ as the host are highly efficient to capture organophosphates (OPs), which dramatically facilitates the enrichment of nitroaromatic OPs onto the electrochemical sensor surface. The combination of the host-guest supramolecular structure and the excellent electrochemical catalytic activities of the pSC₆-Ag NPs/GCE provides a fast, simple, and sensitive electrochemical method for detecting nitroaromatic OPs. In this work, methyl parathion (MP) was used as a nitroaromatic OP model for testing the proposed sensor. In comparison with Ag NPs-modified electrode, the cathodic peak current of MP was amplified significantly. Differential pulse voltammetry was used for the simultaneous determination of MP. Under optimum conditions, the current increased linearly with the increasing concentration of MP in the range of 0.01-80 μM, with a detection limit of 4.0 nM (S/N = 3). The fabrication reproducibility and stability of the sensor is better than that of enzyme-based electrodes. The possible underlying mechanism is discussed.     

Synthesis of water‐soluble monotosylated ethylenediamines and their application in ruthenium and iridium‐catalyzed transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes

Synthesis of novel water‐soluble monotosylated ethylenediamines and their application in ruthenium and iridium‐catalyzed transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes are described. Various aldehydes, including electron‐deficient and electron‐rich variants, were reduced with high conversions and chemoselectivity using sodium formate as a hydrogen source in neat water. Polyethylene glycol‐bound Ru catalyst for asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones in water

A new polyethylene glycol‐supported chiral monosulfonamide was synthesized from (R,R)‐1,2‐diaminocyclohexane and shown to act as a ligand for ruthenium(II)‐catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones in neat water using sodium formate as the hydrogen source. Good enantioselectivities were obtained and the catalyst could be easily separated from the reaction mixture and reused several times. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
